Google Algorithm: Web Marketing Explained

We continue with the series on website and search engine marketing and today we try to understand how the Google algorithm (each search engine) works and what are the elements that work to position the various pages.

Let's analyze Google's new search algorithm - Antevenio

GOOGLE ALGORITHM: READY?

Google's algorithm is the system used by the search engine to determine the order in which search results are displayed. The algorithm uses various metrics and factors to determine the relevance of a web page for a given search query.

One of the main factors used by Google's algorithm is the content of the web page. Pages with high-quality content that is relevant to the search query are considered more relevant and will rank higher in search results.

Google's algorithm also takes into account the authority of the web page and the website as a whole. Websites with high authority and a good backlink profile are considered more trustworthy and relevant, so they will get a better ranking in the SERP (search engine results page) .

THE STRUCTURE OF A SEARCH ENGINE:

A search engine is a complex system that works through a series of interconnected components. Here are some of the main components of the search engine:

  1. Spider : Also known as a crawler or bot, is a program that explores the web looking for new content to index. The spider follows links from one page to another and collects the information it finds.
  2. Indexing : Once the spider has collected the information, it is processed and analyzed. The data is then indexed, or organized so that it can be easily found by users.
  3. Search Algorithm : The search engine uses an algorithm to determine which web pages to display in response to a given query. The algorithm takes into account several factors, such as the relevance of the content, the authority of the site, and the popularity of the page.
  4. User Interface: The user interface is the part of the search engine that users see and interact with. Here users can enter their query and see the search results.
  5. Database: The search engine uses a database to store information collected by spiders and indexed. This database is continually updated to ensure that search results are always accurate and up to date.
